Pixis (formerly Pyxis One) is an American marketing technology company that develops codeless artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure for advertising and marketing optimization. Founded in 2018, the company offers AI products for audience targeting, creative generation, and advertising performance management, and has raised about $209 million in venture funding.[1][2]
History
[edit]Pixis was founded in 2018 by Shubham A. Mishra, Vrushali Prasade, and Harikrishna Valiyath, who had previously studied at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (Goa campus) and co-founded the virtual reality startup Absentia.[3] The company was originally named Pyxis One and adopted the name Pixis in early 2022.[1]
In January 2022, the company raised $100 million in a Series C round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2, with participation from General Atlantic and existing investors.[1] In September 2023, Pixis raised an additional $85 million in a Series C1 round led by Touring Capital, bringing total funding to approximately $209 million.[2][3]
Products
[edit]Pixis develops what it describes as a "codeless" AI infrastructure, a set of pre-built AI models that marketers can deploy without writing code. According to TechCrunch, the platform is organized around three areas: targeting, in which AI is used to identify audiences for a campaign; creative, in which the system generates assets such as text and images; and performance, which provides automated advertising bid and budget management.[2] In a 2023 AdExchanger feature, the company's performance product was described as reallocating advertising bids and budgets across networks including Meta, Google and TikTok using historical and live campaign data; in an A/B test cited in the article, the coffee-and-juice chain Joe & The Juice reported a 12% reduction in cost per app install and a 14% increase in conversion rate when using the tool.[4]
Customers
[edit]As of 2023, TechCrunch reported that Pixis served a customer base of more than 200 brands, including DHL, Joe & the Juice and Swiggy.[2]
Reception and recognition
[edit]In 2025, Pixis was included on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in the United States, ranked at number 785.[5]
