Needy Foundation is a non-profit and charitable non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Established in 2007, the organization focuses on humanitarian aid, poverty alleviation, and supplying clean drinking water in rural areas of Bangladesh.

History
[edit]The organization was founded by Md. Alam Khan in the North Paruapara village of Raipur Union under Anwara Upazila. Initially formed to support the underprivileged communities in the coastal regions of Chittagong, it has since expanded its activities to include disaster relief, educational support, and healthcare services.
Activities
[edit]The foundation operates various social welfare projects, primarily in the Chittagong Division. Key activities include:
- **Humanitarian Aid:** The foundation regularly distributes winter clothes and blankets to destitute families. For instance, in January 2024, they distributed blankets among the cold-stricken people in Anwara Upazila.[1]
- **Infrastructure & Sanitation:** The organization constructs sanitary facilities for religious and public institutions. Recently, they inaugurated a newly constructed ablution facility (Wudukhana) in Karnaphuli Upazila, which was covered by national media.[2]
- **Water Supply:** Installation of tube wells in remote villages to provide safe drinking water.
- **Disaster Relief:** During emergencies, the organization provides food and relief materials to affected areas, as reported in local media.[3]
