Mehdi Navid (Persian: مهدی نوید; born 1981) is an Iranian translator, writer, and editor. He has translated works by Irish playwright and novelist Samuel Beckett into Persian and has published literary writing in Iranian and international venues.[1][2]
Career
[edit]Navid has worked as a literary translator since the late 1990s. His Persian translation of Samuel Beckett’s The Unnamable (Nanāmidani) was discussed in Iranian media upon publication and has been referenced in academic writing on the reception of Beckett in Persian translation.[1][3]
He has also been credited as a contributor to the publication project Seeing Studies, produced in connection with dOCUMENTA (13) and Casco Art Institute and published by Hatje Cantz.[4]

Awards
[edit]Navid’s Persian translation of The Unnamable was shortlisted for the second round of the Iran Book of the Year Award in the “Language – Other Languages” category in 2016.[6]
