Comment: No changes since feedback on the 26th. Same issues with notability apply. Please find and add WP:INDEPENDENT references to demonstrate notability. MolecularPilotTalk 06:20, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
Comment: Sources 1, 3, and 6 are not independent. The other ones lack significant coverage. Please do not resubmit until there are enough (preferably 3) independent, in-depth sources about him. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know or ask at the help desk. Kovcszaln6 (talk) 17:44, 26 February 2026 (UTC)

| Title | Chief Technology Officer |
Luke Lafreniere (born November 12, 1990) is a Canadian technology executive, serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Head of Labs at Linus Media Group (LMG) and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Floatplane Media Incorporated. Lafreniere is Linus Sebastian's long-time friend and collaborator, working together at LMG, Sebastian's company. Lafreniere also co-hosts a podcast with Sebastian, "The WAN Show," (which he co-owns) and appears in other LMG productions, including "Scrapyard Wars."
Lafreniere has worked at LMG or one of its subsidiaries since shortly after it was founded by Sebastian and his wife Yvonne Ho in 2012 once he had graduated from the British Columbia Institution of Technology.[1]
Personal life
Lafreniere showed an early interest in technology, notably appearing in a video on the Linus Tech Tips YouTube channel where he and Sebastian build a PC submerged in mineral oil for cooling[1][2]
After he graduated high school, Lafreniere attended the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada for a few semesters, but dropped out and transferred to the British Columbia Institution of Technology (BCIT) to acquire a diploma in Computing Information Technology[1]. Lafreniere said BCIT offered a different approach to school, telling BCIT News: "At other places students usually study things, but at BCIT students were doing things. Being able to take a program that had things I liked – like programming – but also study things I needed – like business and communication – was awesome."[1] After graduating from BCIT, he transitioned to working at LMG.[1]
Career
Lafreniere is the CTO of LMG,[1][3] managing the company's IT infrastructure and LTT Labs.[3]
Lafreniere is also the COO at Floatplane[3], a subsidiary of LMG. Floatplane is an in-house developed media streaming service that offers creators the opportunity to paywall their content so viewers can watch without ads, and not have to contend with an algorithm.[4] According to Lafreniere, in a video uploaded to Floatplane, he is responsible for "general direction [and] creator recruitment" at the company.[3]
Lafreniere is also the Head of Labs at LTT Labs, a subdivision of LMG, where he is responsible for managing and overseeing product testing and test development.[3] LTT Labs is responsible for testing computer peripherals and computer hardware and providing detailed reports about them[5]. Lafreniere has spoken about his "Head of Labs" title being redundant, as someone holding this position would generally report to the Chief Technology Officer at a company.
As of January 1 2026, Lafreniere gained a fifty percent stake in Adequate Media Incorporated[6][7], a LMG spinoff that owns and operates "The WAN Show" in order to ensure that the show continues in the event his employment at LMG is terminated.[7] Lafreniere co-owns Adequate Media Inc. in partnership with Sebastian and Ho.
On the February 7th, 2026 WAN Show, Lafreniere briefly touched on his employment before joining LMG, including working at an unnamed grocery store, Canadian-based pizza chain Panago, Gone Hollywood Video, Geek Squad, and Best Buy.[8]
Lafreniere was named 2019 Influencer of the Year at Newegg's Eggie Awards.[1][9]
