From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kyoya López is a Mexican-American content creator, streamer, and photographer based in Denver, Colorado and São Pualo, Brazil. He is known for producing multilingual content on social media platforms, particularly TikTok, where he shares gaming, photography, Pokémon, and lifestyle-related videos in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.

Early life and background

[edit]

López was born in Denver, Colorado to immigrant Mexican parents. He is the oldest of three children.

Though López was born in the United States and is of Mexican descent, he has identified as being Brazilian due to cultural acceptance and identity.

López has described being interested in digital content creation from a young age, citing early YouTube creators such as Ryan Higa, SMOSH, and others as inspirations for pursuing online media.[1]

He began experimenting with content creation during his teenage years and initially uploaded videos to platforms such as YouTube and Twitch before later transitioning to TikTok.[2]

Career

[edit]

López began posting content online in 2019. Early attempts on YouTube and Twitch did not gain significant traction, he was later introduced to Tiktok by his brother where he found more success on TikTok after consistently posting short-form videos.

According to interviews, one of his early TikTok videos received approximately 1,000 views, which encouraged him to continue creating content regularly.[3]

He later expanded into livestreaming through TikTok Live, which he has described as an important development in his career because it allowed him to stream video games and interact with viewers without needing a high-end computer or traditional streaming setup.[4]

López is associated with multiple creative projects under the name Komorebi Studios, which organizes different aspects of his work, including streaming, photography, and other creative outputs into separate brands.[5]

Content style

[edit]

López is known for producing multilingual content in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, which he has stated allows him to reach audiences in multiple regions and cultures.[6]

His content includes a variety of topics and formats, including:

  • Gaming and livestreaming
  • Pokémon-related content
  • Photography and visual storytelling
  • Archery
  • 3D printing
  • Lifestyle and daily content[7]

He has described his content as intentionally varied rather than focused on a single niche, allowing him to experiment across multiple creative areas. Though these niches are spread accross different names which all fall under the brand he created known as Komorebi Studios.

Komorebi Studios houses:

  • Notkyoyalopez and Naosoukyoya (gaming and live streaming)
  • Pokeyoya (Pokémon)
  • Komorebi Prints (3D Printing)
  • Komorebi Media (Photography and visual storytelling)

Photography

[edit]

López began developing an interest in photography after receiving his first camera during high school. He initially experimented with mobile photography before moving to DSLR cameras, which allowed him greater control over composition and storytelling.

He has produced photography work in the Denver area, including urban landscapes, portraits, and event-based photography with the most prevalent work being that of the No King's March in Denver.[8]

Public reception

[edit]

López has described the growth of his content as inconsistent, with some videos receiving fewer than 100 views and others reaching tens of thousands. He has similarly noted that livestream viewership can vary widely depending on content and timing.[9]

He has emphasized persistence and consistency as key factors in continuing content creation despite fluctuating engagement.
