Ferdoush Saleheen is a UAE-based supply chain management specialist, academic and researcher known for his work in logistics, operations management, and supply chain transformation across corporate and academic sectors in Asia and the Middle East.[1] He has held leadership roles in national and regional platforms in sectors including fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), electronics, and agribusiness, and has also taught logistics and supply chain management at several universities.[2]

Education and academic work

Ferdoush Saleheen earned his PhD in Decision Science/Operations Research from Universiti Utara Malaysia with a dissertation titled Performance Evaluation of Integrated Supply Chain Management for Manufacturing Industry, supervised by Md. Mamun Habib.[3][4] He also obtained a Master of Science in Logistics from the University of Texas at Arlington in the United States and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Victoria University in Australia.[4]

His academic work focuses on supply chain performance measurement, supply chain resilience, and logistics. His publications include journal articles and conference papers indexed in academic databases.[5][6][7]

Career

Saleheen has worked in both corporate and academic roles related to logistics and supply chain management.[8] In the private sector, he has held senior leadership positions including Chief Supply Chain Officer at Akij Food and Beverage Limited and Partex Star Group (Danish) in Bangladesh.[9]

Saleheen served as Head of Supply Chain at Butterfly Marketing Limited (LG Butterfly), where he oversaw procurement, manufacturing logistics, and distribution operations.[10] His professional experience spans sectors including FMCG, electronics, retail, and agribusiness, where he has been involved in operational restructuring and supply chain transformation initiatives.[11]

Since 2014, Saleheen has been involved in higher education.[10] He has taught MBA and Executive MBA courses in logistics and supply chain management at institutions including BRAC University and the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh.[10] He has also participated in academic conferences and professional events related to logistics and operations management.[12] He served as a faculty member at the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in the United Arab Emirates.[4]

In March 2025, Saleheen joined Sharjah Maritime Academy as a faculty member in supply chain management and logistics.[1][4]

Saleheen has published research articles and conference papers on supply chain performance measurement, resilience, and operations management.[13] His scholarly publications and citation records are indexed in academic databases including Scopus[7], Google Scholar[6], and ORCID.[14]

Recognition

Saleheen is a Chartered Fellow (FCILT) of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT International) in the United Kingdom, a professional designation recognizing experience and professional contribution to the logistics and transport sector.[15]
