eYou Social (stylised as eYou) is a European social media platform launched on 5 May 2026, based in Zagreb, Croatia.[1] It was founded by French serial entrepreneurs Grégoire Vigroux and Jasseem Allybokus as an ethical, transparent alternative to dominant American and Chinese social media platforms such as X and Meta.[2] The company raised €300,000 in pre-seed funding from Fil Rouge Capital, a Croatian-founded early-stage venture fund.[3]

The platform is free to use and was not monetised as of its launch period.

History

[edit]

eYou Social was co-founded by Grégoire Vigroux and Jasseem Allybokus, both French serial entrepreneurs based in Bucharest for approximately 20 and 10 years respectively.[4]

Vigroux previously co-founded CallPoint New Europe, a BPO company that grew to more than 1,000 employees and was acquired by TELUS International in 2012. He served as co-founder and Vice-President of Business Development for TELUS International in Europe until 2017.[5]

Allybokus, who serves as CEO, previously served as CTO at Visiperf, a French digital marketing technology company serving more than 300 brands across 15,800 retail locations.[5]

The company received €300,000 in pre-seed funding from Fil Rouge Capital prior to its public launch on 5 May 2026.[3][1] During its waitlist phase, which opened in March 2026, the platform registered approximately 50,000 users.[4] Within its first three weeks of public operation, it grew to over 60,000 registered users across more than 160 countries.[2]

Features

[edit]

Real-time AI fact-checking

[edit]

eYou Social integrates a real-time fact-checking system accessible on any post. When activated by the user, it generates a pop-up assessment using multiple AI models to cross-reference statements against neutral, verified sources.[2][6]

Digital Twin feed transparency

[edit]

Rather than a hidden recommendation algorithm, eYou Social offers a "Digital Twin" system that shows users exactly how their feed profile is being constructed. Users can directly modify the signals and preferences that determine what content they see.[2]

Anti-echo chamber design

[edit]

The platform's feed mechanics are deliberately calibrated to expose users to a broad diversity of viewpoints, rather than reinforcing pre-existing beliefs or maximising engagement time.[6]

Regulatory compliance

[edit]

eYou Social is built in alignment with EU data protection law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Digital Services Act (DSA). As an EU-hosted platform, it is not subject to the US CLOUD Act, which permits American authorities to compel US companies to disclose data stored anywhere in the world.[1]

Availability

[edit]

The application is available for global download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.[2]

Early engagement metrics

[edit]

According to data shared by the founders, early user engagement metrics compared favourably to established platforms:[2]

Metric eYou Social Industry comparison
Daily time spent 41.1 minutes 30–37 minutes (Facebook / X, est.)
Daily sessions per user 7.7
User retention rate 47.2%

Context: European digital sovereignty

[edit]

eYou Social's launch coincides with sustained EU legislative activity on platform accountability and technological sovereignty. Relevant policy frameworks include:
