Avni Jashari (born 17 March 1981 in Pristina) is a Kosovar journalist and public official who serves as Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Lipjan.[1]
Early life and education
[edit]Jashari was born in Pristina on 17 March 1981.[2] He completed his primary and secondary education in Lipjan.[3] He later graduated in journalism from the Faculty "Faik Konica" in Pristina.[4]
Journalism career
[edit]Jashari worked as a journalist for fourteen years.[5] He initially worked as a reporter for the weekly newspaper Java.[6] He later served as an editor at the news agency InfoSot.[7] He subsequently worked as a producer and editor at Rrokum TV and later as editor-in-chief of the news portal Arbresh.info.[8] He also served for eight years as a member of the board of the Press Council of Kosovo.[9]
Political career
[edit]In May 2018, Jashari joined the political movement Lëvizja Vetëvendosje.[10] On 1 July 2018 he was elected head of the Vetëvendosje branch in Lipjan.[11] In July 2020 he left politics citing health reasons.[12]
On 15 October 2021, Jashari joined the Democratic League of Kosovo.[13] On 1 August 2022, he was appointed Chief of Staff to the Mayor of Lipjan, Imri Ahmeti.[14]
Following the 2025 local elections, he continued to serve in the same position.[15]
Personal life
[edit]Jashari lives in Lipjan and is the father of four children.[16]
