Books

I love books with lyrical, beautiful prose and weird quasi-sci fi or horror subject matter- where the sci-fi elements aren’t fully explained or the main point, but more a vehicle to tell an interesting personal story. Would love any recommendations!!

Edit: I’ve read pretty much all of Ishiguro and VanderMeer’s other books, so I’m looking for recs outside of those two authors.

Music

Hi everyone! This year, I discovered this 80s synth-pop songs through movies like Marty Supreme and The Breakfast Club.
I absolutely fell in love with that sound, and now I'm looking for more 80s songs that have that exact same energy. I'm looking for tracks that feel epic, nostalgic, or cinematic—the kind of songs that would fit perfectly as a movie's opening credits or a powerful ending scene.
Any recommendations for essential 80s synth-pop or new wave tracks with this vibe? Thanks in advance!
