I get that they want to push you towards super as much as possible, but the fact that the app straight up lies to you is making me just want to uninstall it. I've been noticing that my "energy" is depleting even faster than usual lately. It turns out, they are docking 1-2 hearts after the lesson is over.

Lesson over, lesson complete -> 14 hearts left. Reopen app, start and now I have 12 hearts. Wtf? I've been checking this after every lesson and saw I was losing 1 heart Everytime, but just now I lost two which drove me to make this rant post

Be Kind and Respectful

Use the correct flair

Please use the appropriate flair for your posts. Your 4000-day streak should go in "achievement showcase", not "Duolingo in the media". Please also use the "language question" flair, not the "bug report" flair, if you are posting about being marked incorrect, being told you made a typo, etc.

Bug posts

We cannot offer tech support here. We currently allow posts about bugs and other issues for the purpose of spreading information only; https://www.duolingo.com/help/support-request should be your first resort for getting help. As such, we may remove threads about known bugs that are already being discussed in other threads. Do not use bug flair for language questions, including "I should have been marked correct."

No Low Effort/Repetitive Content

Your post should add to the discussion! Simply a screenshot of a streak, XP Boost, or badge will be removed - it clogs up the subreddit! This rule also applies to memes - captioning a screenshot "WTF bro" is not a meme. (And yes, we know about lion tamer Eddy and the eight-year-old doctor).

Encourage Accuracy and Honesty

Share accurate information, even in rants or venting posts. If you’ve found good strategies and tips on Duolingo, ensure they’re truthful and honest before sharing in the community. Venting is okay, but keep the facts straight.

No NSFW Content—Keep It Clean and Safe

This community is for learners of all ages. NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content is strictly prohibited. Keep your contributions appropriate, respectful, and suitable for everyone. Swearing is okay, as long as it is not directed at other users.

For your own safety, please do not include personal information. This includes but is not limited to: your real name, email, phone number, or address.

Doxxing someone else is grounds for an immediate ban, no exceptions. If you believe someone is violating Duolingo rules, report their profile in the app. If you believe they are violating subreddit rules, report them or send us a modmail.

Please use the pinned weekly threads friend/follower requests, and other specific topics.

Relevancy

Posts should be related to Duolingo or language learning. This is not the place to share your epic Roblox meme collection or your thoughts on Taylor Swift's collaboration with Till Lindemann.

No selling subscriptions, accounts, Family Plan spots, etc

Due to scammers taking advantage of this subreddit, we cannot allow people to offer (or ask for) Duolingo subscriptions or Family Plan spots in exchange for money, services, or any other kind of payment. Posts offering free Family Plan spots are still allowed.

Posts offering entire accounts are not allowed even if they are being offered for free.

No promotion of APKs/cracked copies, etc

We try to maintain good relations with Duolingo staff, and that means we can't allow people to promote, link to, or instruct others on how to install third-party APKs ("cracks"), etc, of any Duolingo apps.

Your title should give us an idea of what you want to talk about! We reserve the right to remove threads with one-word titles and ask you to repost.

Other resources and self-promotion

We do allow discussion of supplemental language resources here. We do not allow promotion of your own product (including social media channels). For example: you CAN discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the Michael Thomas Method here; the (rival app) marketing team CAN'T spam the sub with "DOESN'T DUOLINGO SUCK? BUY OUR APP INSTEAD".
