I’ve been a huge fan of the documentary since the beginning and now actively follow the team/never miss a match
With the season now ‘over’ on the documentary, this is the first time where I’ve felt the documentary does a very poor job representing what was actually happening.
The story of the season was undoubtably the massive amounts of new players and integrating them into the squad. But if you watch the documentary, only Windass & Moore are highlighted repeatedly.
-Broadhead got one ~5 minute segment and is the clubs record signing.
-Dom Hyam captained the team almost from the beginning, yet his name wasn’t mentioned once. He was never on camera.
-Callum Doyle was player of the season and undoubtably the best player on the team. He was never interviewed once nor mentioned (outside of being on the iPad Michael Williamson was using to scout players.)
This is very counter to previous seasons that always highlighted key players
I enjoy the segments on the women’s team, the town, and other members of the club like Whitey and Trina. Historically, those segments are well woven in with the overall story.
But it really feels like the documentary did a very poor job this season of telling the story
