First time in Davis this summer! Any recommendations?
First time in Davis this summer! Any recommendations?

Hi everyone!

I'm an engineering physics undergraduate from Mexico and I'll be at UC Davis this July for a summer research internship, and I'm really looking forward to experiencing both the university and the area.

I'd love to hear any recommendations for things to do, places to eat, coffee shops, weekend trips, or anything you think is worth checking out.

Also, if anyone else is around over the summer (students, interns, grad students, etc.), it'd be fun to meet up for coffee or explore campus sometime.

Thanks!

Food

Our friend, who was an Applied Mathematics student at UC Davis, passed away very suddenly in April. Preethi's Indian Cuisine in downtown Davis catered the entire memorial and refused to accept payment from us.

They cooked for and served 40 people on short notice for free. Please show Preethi's some love, their food is delicious and their owners are so kind!! (My favorite is the chicken tikka masala)
