i got psoriasis on my hands, feet, elbows, knees and lips. and so far, id say the most physically painful was the feet and the most mentally painful are the hands. got people on a weekly basis asking me who i punched

Don't ask for diagnosis or about undiagnosed medical issues

Psoriasis cannot be reliably diagnosed over the Internet through photos or descriptions of symptoms. There are a number of disorders which present similarly to psoriasis, and only a qualified dermatologist can often tell the difference; sometimes a biopsy is needed to confirm. The same goes for undiagnosed medical issues, even if they may seem related to psoriasis. Whatever answer you get on the Internet, it will not be sufficient. See a doctor.

No spam, social media, or crowdfunding

Don't post spam or low-quality commercial sites, including links to dubious miracle cures, self-help videos, patient surveys, or social media such as Facebook or Instagram. Crowdfunding is not permitted, either.

Be nice and respectful

Treat your fellow members well and respectfully. Don't be rude, and avoid sexist remarks. Tolerate dissenting opinions and don't discourage discussion that you disagree with.

Mark photos as NSFW

Some people are sensitive to photos of human bodies. Please mark your post as NSFW if you include any.

Don't promote questionable miracle cures, including experimental and/or unsafe treatments

The Internet is full of non-FDA-approved miracle cures or experimental treatments, some of them (like compounding your own medications) potentially unsafe, whereas others have no basis in science, or are exploitative products.

Refrain from asking basic questions answered by the FAQ

Please refrain from asking basic questions that are already answered in the FAQ. Our FAQ is designed not just to help, of course, but also avoid clogging the sub with questions that are asked over and over again. Also, if you can't find an answer there, use the search! Chances are pretty high someone has already asked the question before.

Do not provide medical advice or diagnosis

We are not medical professionals in this sub. Do not attempt to diagnose people. Do not tell people to use specific medications. You may of course talk about what worked or did not work for you, as well as offer information about what medications exist. Do not dissuade or discourage people from using medications, especially those that have been directed to use by a doctor, unless there's apparent real harm in doing so (e.g. incorrect use).
