Hi everyone! I work in IT and I wanted to let everyone who is on the Reddit searching for what’s going on in their email know how to handle it! If you have received an email claiming your BU email address will be deactivated due to transfer/graduation/retirement unless you click the link, do not press the link!!! BU allows alumni to keep their emails. And if there were an issue with your account you would be told by an official IT email. Not the email of a random student.
If it is in your junk mail, move it to your regular inbox, this is so you can forward it to . This will open a ticket for IT to disable the compromised account as well as update their BU Phish Bowl site where they document the list of phishing attempts.
After that, either move the email to your junk folder or delete it!
