Encouraging A Reviewer To Respond

[edit]

Dear Encoded, I could use some advice on how to encourage a reviewer to respond to a question. On a particular page, I posted a question in July of last year, which I repeated in September and this March . . .and have not received a response. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Wynott, I'd send them a message on their talk page first, and if that doesn't work they may have left the wiki for a while. If there's a particular question I can help with I'd be happy to weigh in to speed things along. Thanks, Encoded  Talk 💬 11:53, 7 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Their last message on their Talk page was in February, so they may have left. I've sent them a message anyway. I'll wait a couple of days to see if they respond. Wynott (talk) 17:17, 11 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Alas, no response. My question to DaHawk04 was "Hello, Dahawk04. I'm following up on a question I asked several months ago about the Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) page. I wrote that "The suggested changes have not shown up on the PIRG page. '...employ research, public education, grassroots organizing and direct advocacy on issues such as consumer protection, clear water and air, waste and recycling, energy, public health and transportation.'"
Is there something I can do to facilitate this? Thank you." Wynott (talk) 23:23, 15 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Dolpina (09:04, 17 June 2026)

[edit]
Note: Dolpina's mentor Clovermoss is away.

Hello, what do I do about meatpuppetry/sockpuppetry and obviously canvassing when I notice it. Do I ignore it? For example, "ichafu" got salted as an article, but here is a 9 day old account trying to bypass it by creating this.

Question from CristinaTechEditor (09:43, 18 June 2026)

[edit]

Hi! I’m new to editing and would appreciate your advice.

I work for Infineon Technologies and have a conflict of interest regarding the Cypress PSoC article - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cypress_PSoC Following Wikipedia guidelines, I submitted an edit request on the Talk page instead of editing directly.

I’ve proposed some initial, factual updates (e.g. Infineon acquisition and a neutral technical clarification) as a first step.

The end goal is to improve and update the article more broadly (including reflecting current naming to PSOC all capital letters and product structure), but I understand that larger changes should be done gradually and supported by independent sources.

Does this approach — starting with small, neutral edits and building up in phases — seem appropriate to you? Any feedback would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance! --CristinaTechEditor (talk) 09:44, 18 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thank you so much and I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier. I was just wondering if you had any advice regarding the first full article? I'm developing one for Dr. Mary Harney and would love some advice. --Alt irish historian (talk) 13:25, 19 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Mkt2mgmtgs (14:10, 22 June 2026)

[edit]

Hi Encoded, thanks for the welcome. I'm new and this is my first draft. I've disclosed a conflict of interest on my user page since I do marketing for one of the products it names. The draft is a topic article on waterproof drywall I put together through Articles for Creation: Draft:Waterproof drywall. It covers the FEMA flood-resistant material categories and lists one example product in each. Before I submit it for review, would you be willing to look it over for neutrality and tone, and flag anything that reads as promotional? Appreciate the help. --Mkt2mgmtgs (talk) 14:11, 22 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
