Plagiarism claim, April 2021

[edit]

Cupcake547 added a {{copypaste}} template, giving "The history section is basically the same as a book's words" as a reason in his edit summary.
Would you kindly share with us which book you mean so the situation can be checked and perhaps improved upon? --ΟΥΤΙΣ (talk) 02:08, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No reaction and a {{sockpuppeteer}} notice on Cupcake547's user page: Removing the template. --ΟΥΤΙΣ (talk) 15:48, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Senusiyya, Senussi, Sanusi, or Sanussi?

[edit]

4 different names? Sanussi in the Royal family title, Senusiyya for the Wiki page title, and the rest of the page says Senussi, and Sanusi is not listed even 1 more time? Where did we get these 4 names and which one do we choose? 67.218.106.101 (talk) 21:48, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

SenusiyyaSanusi orderSanusi order – Move to most common contemporary transliteration + "order" for natural disambiguation and consistency with other Sufi order pages - the scholarly prevalence of the term is also confirmed by Ngrams. Oppose, move to Sanusiyya. I don't think ngrams is that useful here, it doesn't have any data post-2012. A review of Google Scholar hits: 65 hits for "Senusiyya", 126 hits for "Senussi order", 88 hits for "Sanussi order", 442 hits for "Sanusi order", 1490 hits for "Sanusiyya", 581 hits for "Sanusiyyah". There are more variations but they all get less than 130 hits each. Appears to support Sanusiyya as the common name. I don't understand the argument regarding WP:CONSISTENT and WP:NATURAL, most of our articles on Sufi orders don't add on "order". Kowal2701 (talk) 17:26, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You can't fairly compare a one word search to a search for a phrase of two words. You'd need to run your comparison with "Sanusiyya order". You're also not distinguishing between English language results, which we prefer here on en.wiki with respect to naming considerations, and foreign language sources. A great many sources using Sanusiyyah, the basic transliteration from Arabic, are scholarship from Turkey, Indonesia, etc. in their respective languages. There are then further reasons to prefer the more natural and recognisable Sanusi, identical to the founder's name, over the far more abstract – and to non-Arabic speakers esoteric – Arabic transliteration, which is essentially a foreign term. Support move to Sanusiyya. I think I'm inclined to agree with Kowal2701 and their evidence. The original nom is still better than the current title and "Sanusi" is (from what I see) the common adjectival form, but "Sanusiyya" reflects a common name in reliable sources and is a little more concise to boot. I don't mind this. Certainly better than the current rare spelling. Iskandar323 (talk) 17:40, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
