Did you know nomination

[edit]

  • Source: " It is the only Gujarati play to be staged at Rashtrapati Bhavan in independent India. Written by Rasiklal Parikh, 'Mena Gurjari' tells the tale of a woman, Mena, from the Gurjar community."[1]
("Describing the importance of this play, they mentioned that this was the only Gujarati play to be performed at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.")[2]

  • Article was moved to mainspace the day before the nomination, and is long enough and free from close paraphrasing. No QPQ needed as the nominator has less than five nominations. The hook is cited inline and verified. However, one of its two sources is the Times of India; per WP:TIMESOFINDIA, the source has a questionable history of fact-checking. Given that the hook is superlative (in this case "first" or "only"), I don't think it is usable for this claim. There is a second source, but given the circumstances, it is probably better to go with another hook. As an aside, even if we were to go with the Rashtrapati Bhavan angle, many international readers may not know it is the official residence of the President of India, so any hooks about it should instead be piped as "India's president's official residence" or "the official residence of India's president". Thank you for the review. I understand the concern regarding the use of the Times of India source, and I also appreciate your suggestion to replace "Rashtrapati Bhavan" in the hook with "the official residence of the President of India" for the benefit of international readers. I will re-draft the DYK hook shortly. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. Snehrashmi (talk) 04:03, 25 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
As an aside, per the MOS, the article title should be at Mena Gurjari (play), and "Revivals and Adaptations" should be "Revivals and adaptations". Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 13:37, 24 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for pointing about the article title and the section correction. Snehrashmi (talk) 03:58, 25 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]
