Splitting the article
[edit]What was the need to split this article into two articles? It was fine as it was. Richard75 (talk) 00:44, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- I agree with Richard75. This shouldn't have been split. The split has resulted in an article that largely violates Wikipedia policies, since it is overwhelmingly WP:WEIGHTed towards WP:PRIMARY research. Shooterwalker (talk) 00:04, 10 January 2022 (UTC)

Foundation series → Foundation (book series) – Foundation (TV series) is also a "series" so this title is an incomplete disambiguation state. And while not a primary topic so page views aren't really needed, per Pageviews it hasn't received more views than the series over the last year Gonnym (talk) 08:10, 11 July 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Current title is outdated considering the TV series now exists.— TAnthonyTalk 14:25, 11 July 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Also, "Foundation series" should redirect to the book series, as that has the most enduring audience (for now). Shooterwalker (talk) 17:57, 11 July 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nom and per those above. I would also note that Foundation itself is a disambiguation page, and there are multiple items on the page for which a "series" could conceivably exist. BD2412 T 02:53, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- Comment if someone could write a franchise article, the "Foundation series" should point there. Foundation Saga seems to be available to use as a franchise article name. This should include the Galactic Empire series, Daneel+Bailey series, I Robot, End of Eternity, the various spin-offs (Caliban, "Fourth Law of Robotics", etc), the TV show, the I Robot movie, etc. ; and discussion on the non-infringing related works like "Psychohistorical Crisis" -- 65.92.247.96 (talk) 08:05, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- Support per above; the title needs the specificity. Walsh90210 (talk) 19:46, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- Support per nom. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:53, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

Need a detailed plot description?
[edit]Most books (and movies and TV shows) have a full descriptive “Plot” section that explains the events of the thing. I was surprised to see the Foundations wiki doesn’t, I believe this means that not many people today have read the book. If someone can add that “that’d be great, thanks”. RandomEditor6772314 (talk) 18:41, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
- Click the links for the articles about the individual novels. They each have a plot section. This article is about the series as a whole. It has links to each novel. It does not need a plot section. It has nothing to do with how many people have read the novels. As for how long a plot section can be, it is not unlimited. See MOS:NOVELPLOT. Joke Claim
[edit]Marc Miller, creator of the Traveller tabletop role-playing game, likes to joke that Foundation is based on Isaac Asimov's college Traveller campaign. Of course, it's ridiculous, since Foundation preceded Traveller by 35 years. Washi (talk) 00:16, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
