Full disclosure for these who care, and coming just from me (you really don't need to read any of this):

The above is a formal statement that we've agreed on with Atsme (who's an incredibly good person got very much engaged into this, in fact far more than me actually as I almost gave up as recently as yesterday and didn't even want to try) and which I don't think would be any fake or misleading in any way. In fact I'm quite afraid to disappoint her, and I don't know if I'm doing righting this commentary right now.

Atsme suggested a plan if I'm allowed to return, including "joining a few WikiProjects in my area of interest, expanding stubs and working to achieve more GA & FA promotions". Regarding this, truth be told for the last part at least: I'm personally not looking for Wikipedia recognitions and I've got some severe aversion to these two in particular (barnstars are silly but at least it's something personal and coming naturally).

As for the first part of that, I've become so introvertic (not a real word according to the Chrome spellcheck) and very struggling with any sort of social interactions lately, so I might join but I wouldn't even be active much probably, unless something changes or just the experience of this would be positive enough, on which I don't really count because I'm most of time so pessimistic about everything. From what I remember most of these projects were just not active anyway and one or two that were were full of drama, and if they are active I'd hate to be engaged in any sort of dispute or drama here as even a thought of it makes me literally feel sick (as it did even when someone linked me to [1] and I've got a mild physical revulsion reaction to even this). Perhaps if rather someone came to me and ask me to do something, maybe together.

I'd also probably just wouldn't be very active anyway, compared to what I used to be. My experience overall so far has been so crushingly negative I actually use every occasion to recommend everyone I speak with to never use Wikipedia for anything, much less to try to edit which I came to believe is nothing but folly, and I came to seriously hate this website altogether, on which I've been on record elsewhere. Plus I've got a crippling fear of rejection and severe trust issues among other problems so if I don't feel accepted here I'll probably just leave, at least after posting what I've already got long prepared. Perhaps some or all this might change, or maybe I'll just really get rejected right below so it doesn't even matter.

I will leave this unblock request open for at least 24 hours to see if any other administrators would like to chime in, but I am leaning toward accept as good reasons have been given, and that you have recognised your past mistakes (mostly to do with temperament as far as I can see) and have agreed to follow community customs by not repeating these same editing behaviours. Even if one were to consider the IP editing back in November 2017, I did not see any intention to deceive, so I would have not considered it as a factor to not unblock. I would like to think this is a classic case of rope (it has been more than two years), and unblocking this account would be a net positive to the project. I'm abstaining. Snaaaake has been blocked 15+ times over multiple names, but the real saga ended 4 years ago, and the last 6 months have just been trying to get them to actually post a cogent unblock message. I think unblock with the following conditions (1RR, one account, civility restriction) should be fair; a closer look at their openly declared IP contribution page indicates to me that they are here to contribute to the project, but struggles to communicate well, in which I hope the mentorship of Atsme would help. The Master, also known as Richard Moreau and Richard Grey, is a fictional character and one of the central antagonists that influences the events of the video game series Fallout. A disgusting mass of mutated flesh infused with the computer system of the underground vault in which he resides, The Master is the leader of the Unity movement that wants to replace the human race that had not suffered mutation with his new race of mutants, believing that they will never fight among each other.

He serves as the primary antagonist and final boss in the original Fallout post-apocalyptic role-playing video game and the would-be antagonist of the cancelled game Fallout Online. He was also supposed to be the villain of the Interplay Films' cancelled Fallout film treatment.

Character biography

The Master is the creator and leader of the super mutant race, and the mastermind behind a movement called "The Unity", the aim of which is to turn every human possible into a super mutant by means of the FEV virus. He claims that those who can not be mutated by the virus as well as those that choose not to will be allowed to live, provided they submit themselves to sterilization. Those that resist the Unity outright will be executed for trying to stand in the way of the Master's "progress". In theory, the Unity is for humanity's own good, as super mutants are better adapted to live in a post-nuclear wasteland. Also, according to the Master, turning all living beings into one single race would finally eliminate the differences and the human fallacies that ultimately brought about the nuclear war.

The Master was born as Richard Moreau, and was a resident of the nuclear shelter Vault 8, later known as Vault City. There he worked as a doctor until 2092, when he was exiled from the city for murder. He changed his name to Richard Grey and headed south, ending up at the settlement known as the Hub, where he met Harold, a prominent caravan leader and trader. Following ever increasing attacks on Harold's caravans by mutated creatures, the pair teamed up in 2102 and led a group of scientists who mounted an expedition to investigate the source of the mutated animals, which were attacking the survivors of the nuclear war. On June 23, 2102, Grey and his party stumbled upon the Mariposa Military Base, in which the U.S. government had been mass-producing, and experimenting with, the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV). With the exception of Grey and Harold, the party was killed by the mutated creatures and the base's internal defense systems. Harold barely escaped, and Grey was plunged into a vat of FEV by a robotic arm. Floating in the vats for almost a month, the FEV transformed Grey into the amorphous, blob-like being that would eventually become known as the Master and bionically merged with computer equipment inside it. The Master began capturing humans that stumbled upon his lair, and intentionally exposing them to the FEV. These initial mutated humans were incredibly flawed, and the Master absorbed them rather than letting them live. In 2103, the Master perfected his method of infecting ("dipping") humans and began creating the "master race" of super mutants, who followed his every command. In 2152, as his army's influence began to spread throughout the wastes, the Master came into contact with a group of human doomsday cultists, led by a man named Morpheus. Realizing the benefits of retaining undipped humans in his service to act as spies throughout the region, the Master recruited the cult into his service. In 2155, he discovered the location of an unnumbered experimental vault prototype, located just south of the center of the ruins of Los Angeles, renamed as the Boneyard. The Master relocated to the vault with his human cult followers and a portion of his ever-growing super mutant army, and oversaw the building of a large cathedral on the surface above the vault the following year. The cult became known as the Children of the Cathedral, and continued to be led by Morpheus, who reported directly to the Master. While the Children appear to be a fervent religious order, the Children and Morpheus are simply a front that the Master uses to advance his plan for the future of mankind: the Unity.

In Fallout, the Master has extremely powerful psionic abilities, able to project extremely vivid hallucinations that easily break the mind of any enemy without some form of mental protection. Besides his psionic abilities, the Master also has a genius level intellect and incredible natural charisma, having rallied an army of cultishly devoted human and super-mutant followers around him. He has mastered genetic engineering through his experiments with the FEV. However, the Master's Unity scenario is not realistic as all super mutants are sterile and cannot procreate. The protagonist of Fallout, later dubbed the Vault Dweller, can help Vree, a scientist of the Brotherhood of Steel, come to this conclusion, and later use this information to convince the Master that his endeavour has no chances of success and to self-destruct. Unless the player joins the Master, the end result is the same: the Cathedral is destroyed by a nuclear device, killing everyone within.

The Master's legacy of super mutants and the FEV continued, including being mentioned throughout the series (with Fallout 4 being the only game in which the Master was not mentioned entirely). A phrase "The Master Lives" could be seen in promotional animation for the cancelled Fallout Online.

Design and gameplay

The Master is a hideously mutated being composed of several other creatures and electronic parts, all apparently melded together. Apart from his appearance, one of his most notable features is his unique way of speaking, as his voice is computer-generated and sentences are composed from samples of several people's speech. His original name (Richard Moreau) was derived from The Island of Dr. Moreau.

Defeating the Master is one of the main objectives in the original Fallout. The Vault Dweller has three options to choose from for this task: he or she can either kill the Master though combat (an extremely difficult task), convince him to abandon his plan (in which case the Master commits suicide), or bypass the Master entirely by manually setting off a nuclear device, located in one of the floors of the vault in which the Master lives. If the player encounters the Master, he or she also has the option of joining forces with the Master instead, which results in a non-canonical ending wherein the player is dipped and becomes a super mutant. The Master is very hard to kill through combat, due to his bio-electrical integration with the Cathedral Vault's Overseer Chair, giving him access to its devastating firepower and an almost constantly respawning supply of super mutant bodyguards.

Reception

The character has been critically acclaimed. GameSpot included the Master among the ten best computer game villains for being "one of the most memorable antagonists in computer-gaming history," and further chose him as one of the 64 characters competing in their 2010 poll Greatest Video Game Villain that included console gaming characters and in which he has won directly in the first two rounds of eliminations against Kain and Heihachi Mishima before losing to Bowser. GamesRadar too praised the Master's role as an antagonist, putting him in their 2013 list of the best villains in video games at number 75. In 2018, Kotaku also called him "one of the greatest villains in video game history" while PC Gamer included him on their list of the best boss fights in PC gaming.

In 2015, IGN ranked the Vault Dweller meeting with the Master as the third best moment in by-then long-running Fallout series, noting these to be also some of the most memorable scenes in the entire history of gaming. Similarly, according to GamesRadar, "the climactic encounter between the player and the Master made [the game's Cathedral location] one of the most striking storytelling devices of its era."

Listicles & verbosity

Hi, welcome back. In the spirit of new beginnings, Wikipedia's tone has changed over time and we try to avoid Reception sections that list mentions of fictional characters indiscriminately. As a general encyclopedia, we write for a general readership. For example, in your rewrite mentioned above,

The character has been critically acclaimed. GameSpot included the Master among the ten best computer game villains for being "one of the most memorable antagonists in computer-gaming history," and further chose him as one of the 64 characters competing in their 2010 poll Greatest Video Game Villain that included console gaming characters and in which he has won directly in the first two rounds of eliminations against Kain and Heihachi Mishima before losing to Bowser. GamesRadar too praised the Master's role as an antagonist, putting him in their 2013 list of the best villains in video games at number 75. References

Instead of shuffling these claims in a rewrite, ask what the source actually imparts by ranking a character #X of Y with no futher info, and why that fact matters to a general reader. They can be paraphrased. The general assertion above that the character is "among the best video game villains" could be written as a single line with multiple refs without losing any extra detail. If the source has something important to say about the character, paraphrase the importance instead of relying on direct quotes.

In another example:

GamerFitnation speculated on how Jade ("The Emerald Assassin") would fare in a matchup against UFC fighter Ronda Rousey after Rousey successfully defended her UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship title.

References

Refs like this aren't useful for our general audience for several reasons: (1) They're low-quality. The ref barely even gestures at the sourced information having any consequence. In general, Wikipedia isn't a place to aggregate the assertions of listicles, especially in this case, as if the author was actually making some credible claim about the fictional character and the real MMA fighter? (2) It adds nothing to the article. A general audience wouldn't know what to do with this hypothetical non sequitur in the middle of a Reception section, and similarly, sections filled with these sorts of unrelated sentences are hard/convoluted for other editors to maintain. (3) GamerFitnation was never a reliable source—it has no hallmarks of editorial quality or pedigree and no reputation for fact-checking. It's a hobbyist blog and even today it's a front for spyware. These facts should be fairly self-evident to an editor with your experience, so please remove such claims rather than making them more prominent in the article.

Later in that same edit, a source is quoted at length. Quotes and copyvio should be minimized by putting the author's thoughts in our own words.

Regardless of where the content originated, please edit for a general audience by focusing on the subject's general background and importance. I really only kept that Ronda thing (shortened) because I've seen it added by someone whom I respect so I presumed it does make sense somehow, even if I thought it's oddly random and pretty stupid without checking the article of which I'm still not interested. Is there a way to autotranslate articles but complete with formatting?

Only way I know to do it would be Google translate. I copied the lead in edit mode, entered it in GT and translated to Spanish:

As evidenced, there are some issues with translating code, but it could be that when it's added to the relative language WP, it will understand the translated code whereas Eng doesn't. Edit summaries, multiple consecutive edits

Once again, regarding edit summaries and editing practices:

• Please make a habit of providing an edit summary when you make a change to an article. Doing so makes it easier for your colleagues here to understand the intention of your edit.
• Plus, it will be easier for you and your co-editors to collaborate on articles if, instead of making multiple consecutive edits in rapid succession on an article, you use the "Show preview" button to view your changes incrementally before finally saving the page once you're satisfied with your edits. Meh, Eric is correct. Although over the years I've noticed different editors work differently, and your editing style is not particularly unusual. I nominate User SNAAAAKE to be Editor of the Week for his work in finding/adding images and expanding multiple articles for topics related to the Arthurian legend. Following is a small sampling of his work: Morgan le Fay, Paimpont forest, Brocéliande. What I believe sets this editor apart is self-reformation after he experienced some tough times that led him down a wayward path. He was given chance after chance, and time-off for self-reflection. With a bit of guidance, he has realized the error of his ways and vowed to not repeat them. As a result, he was given the opportunity to make a comeback, and is demonstrating that one more chance truly can bring positive results.
